When one door closes another one opens.
New Hampton’s Keaton Geerts had to withdraw from his match against Jason Renteria of Illinois due to a conflict. The good news is fans wanting to see Renteria battle it out with a New Hampton prep will still get their wish.
Not only does the New Hampton program feature Geerts, but now proudly boast Michael Millage as well, who is one of Iowa’s top wrestlers in the class of 2018. A state champion as a freshman and state runner-up as a sophomore, Millage made a name for himself early in Iowa and lately has been receiving national attention from his runner-up finish at last spring’s FloNationals. Since our original match announcement, Renteria is now ranked #1 overall in the 132-pound rankings by Flowrestling, which will shoot Millage towards the top of the national rankings if he can pull off the win October 14th.
Renteria is a winner inside Carver, winning both his Night of Conflict match and the Conflict at Carver OW in 2015, but Millage is a wrestler that won’t lay down to an opponent based on national rankings.

ABOUT NIGHT OF CONFLICT:
The IAwrestle Team is proud to announce that this October we will be hosting a premier wrestling event titled “The Night of Conflict 2”, and will pit some of the best talent that the country has to offer in a head-to-head battle for supremacy of each weight class. The event is scheduled for October 14, 2016 in Carver-Hawkeye Arena and it will take place the day before the preseason tournament, the Conflict at Carver. The dual will be broadcasted on FloWrestling.
Following weigh ins for the Conflict at Carver, wrestlers who have registered for the tournament will receive automatic admission into the Night of Conflict, free of charge. Tickets for the Night of Conflict will also be available for purchase at the door.
