Set your goals higher. Gotta beat them all to win it.
1A 113
From what I’ve heard, Hanson is planning on going down to 106. Not to mention he just beat Ebaugh (who you have ranked 6th) and lost in OT to Ducket at the same tournament….although I do believe he is 2-1 vs Ducket in the last year.
Thanks I’ll keep an eye on that. Yea it’s tough when a guy beats someone above them but has other losses. Ebaughs placing at state last year still carries some weight in this set until more of the season shakes out. That was the thinking there.
Rankings look pretty solid. A lot of good kids getting some recognition thanks for taking the time to put this out there.
you cannot possibly have reliable or unbiased rankings when someone affiliated with one of the top schools doing the rankings. These rankings DO effect the seedings for state and for the state duals, because very few people will do the research necessary to do things the right way, and they take these rankings as gospel. There has been dual rankings over the past couple of years where direct criteria was ignored (head to head and common opponent) because of the rankings. Dan McCool did much more reliable rankings, at the correct weights, with NO SOCIAL media available to him, because he contacted every coach in the state and he had no bias, except maybe for Clarion. The not ranking of freshman initially is wrong, through AAU and other competitions, if you do a little research we know more about these freshman than we know about upperclassman, not saying you rank them #1, but some of the 106 rankings omit the best kids initially for no reason, when you are pretty certain they are at least top 10 kids. There needs to be a general ranking service, unbiased, with the justifications listed directly with the rankings, so and so beat someone head to head, quality wins, qualilty losses, strength of schedule, etc. Gets old to see the same teams get biased rankings on a regular basis.
People forget Dan McCool was a wizard on twitter back in the 80’s
You can do your own rankings if you want put your name on them if you don,t like these if there good the iahsaa might use them for seeding
coming soon tough guy, actually looking into starting a ranking service that the state would use because it would factual and unbiased tough guy
Just copy mine. It will save you time.
These
These rankings seem to be based more on weight class adjustments rather than records or upsets….why do it so early then??
Thanks for the input
Abbas loses 1 match to Rahnavardi and goes to 10, interesting
He has 5 losses. Also two top 5 ranked guys from other weights moved into 145
So Anderson beats Hooyer (2A #4), and you drop Hooyer to #9…..but Anderson also drops from #8 to #10 (1A)? He has also been at 195…not 182.
Guys will always move up or down based on who else moves weight classes. We kept most guys at the weight they said they would be at. Might move guys next set on a case by case basis.
