UNI Completes 2019-20 Schedule

The University of Northern Iowa has been rolling out it’s 2019-20 schedule in a series of Tweets this week and we’ve finally got them all with today’s announcement of their final two duals.

It opens and closes with duals on the road against Big 10 teams. Those trips to Northwestern and Wisconsin are in addition to hosting another Big 10 team in Nebraska in their first home dual of the season. Six other home dates are scheduled, from the UNI Open and old MAC rival Missouri, to new conference foes West Virginia and the longtime Big 12 conference champion Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are making their first appearance in Cedar Falls (in a one-off dual meet) since 2009.

January provides the most action for UNI, as it has six duals in the month with a trip out west to Northern Colorado and Air Force in the middle of it. Utah Valley and South Dakota State preempt the Missouri dual, while Okie State closes out the month.

With just one home dual in February (against West Virginia on the 14th) UNI won’t see the inside of the West gym for over a month at the end of the season. With away duals at Oklahoma, then at Iowa State and Wisconsin back-to-back, the Panthers will know what it’s like to live on the road. Whether or not that helps them out in the post-season is unknown right now, but there are high expectations out of Cedar Falls this season, and the gauntlet of the schedule will have them ready to go.
