It’s football season and while we generally don’t discuss the pigskin based sport too often on IAwrestle the beginning of the football season also has implications on on wrestling. Football season is often considered recruiting season for many college programs. It’s too early for college practices, but it’s never too early to be on the lookout for the next wave of talent.

This weekend will be no exception in Ames, Iowa as Kevin Dresser and the Iowa State Cyclones are expected to have several big names in town this weekend when their football program hosts instate rival Northern Iowa on the gridiron.

Among the big names making the trek to Iowa State is the state’s top uncommitted prospect in the class of 2020, three-time state champion Adam Allard. The West Sioux wrestler is looking to make a decision prior to the start of his final high school season and is currently considering Iowa State, Iowa, Northern Iowa, and North Dakota State.

In addition to Allard IAwrestle has also confirmed that several other big names will be in town this weekend. In the class of 2020 New York prep Zach Redding, who is ranked #119 in his class according to Flowrestling is expected to be in town. Bergen Catholic’s (New Jersey) Joey Zargo is also expected to be in attendance. Zargo is rated #36 in the class of 2020 according to Flo.

Illinois state champion Noah Villarreal and Minnesota prep standout Carson Manville are also expected to visit this weekend.
