Much to the pleasure of Iowa State wrestling fans; Willie Miklus is staying put in Ames. It was announced today that Willie will be joining the Iowa State coaching staff as a graduate assistant.
Being a graduate assistant involves not only coaching, but also assisting in the operations of the wrestling program.
Having Willie around can only help Iowa State wrestling. Being a four time All American, and earning one hundred career wins can only bolster an already top notch staff. He’ll join NWCA Division 1 Coach of the Year Kevin Dresser, Brent Metcalf, Derek St. John.
Miklus also plans to continue wrestling at the senior level. He’ll have an excellent opportunity to coach, and train at the Cyclone Regional Training Center. His presence at the CRTC will also be welcomed, I’m sure. Having guys like Willie, and Kyven Gadson I believe you’ll see bigger numbers in the near future at the Cyclone Regional Training Center.
