1A 152 #5 Arment and #7 Mulder absolutely manhandled by 2A Solon’s Zack Bevans. Not including the 3-0 dec over 2A Abe Michel. Bevans is hot right now. Needs some attention.
Denver beat Lisbon at the Tripoli tournament. Denver beat Don bosco in a dual.
Denver beat #1 2A New Hampton in a dual.
Denver won the Storm tournament and had seven champions.
Not sure what it takes to be number 1 in this pole.
Yes, Denver beat Lisbon in a weekend tournament in early January. These rankings are based off what teams are projected to score in Des Moines though. We take what a kid is ranked, plug in the number based on where he is ranked, and add up each teams points.
Bosco was nowhere near full strength when that dual happened, but now they are and have been for almost a month.
As did Bosco, and it wouldnt shock me if Lisbon would beat New Hampton too if they wrestled.
A very dominant weekend by them for sure, but it was a tournament with only 1 other team listed in the top 10 in any of the 3 classes. Not to mention only 8 teams total
You need to have more projected team points than all of the other 121 teams in the 1A Classification in Iowa High School Wrestling
I am wondering why a guy at 220 has beaten 7 ranked guys , 2 of which he bumped up to Hwt. 2 ranked guys where #1 until he beat them and the guy ahead of him has a loose. Talking about Kaleb Reeves.
Out of state wins and losses dont factor too heavily into rankings. It’s hard enough keeping a handle on who the top 10-15 kids are at each weight in Iowa, let alone 2 or 3 surrounding states. Reeves has a good case for the #1 ranking, but what it came down to for me was Rief has out placed Reeves the last two years at state going 3rd and 3rd to Reeves’ 7th and 7th. If Rief had more losses or the lone loss was in state then I probably would have went Reeves #1.
