Logan-Magnolia state medalist Garret Thompson has committed to Northern State University to continue his wrestling career. Thompson has finished seventh at the state tournament in each of the last two seasons.

Thompson posted the news with the bellow message on his personal Facebook account:

I am happy to announce that I have verbally committed to continuing my education and wrestling career after this school year at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. I am blessed to have so many people to thank. First, my parents and family for supporting, encouraging, and getting me here. Second, I have been lucky to have so many coaches and mentors in wrestling to coach me, offer advice, and support me on and off the mat. Thank you! Next, I would like to thank Logan-Magnolia Schools and community. Thank you for the excellent education and opportunities you have made available to me. Logan-Magnolia has the best fans in the state, thank you for being with me on and off the mat. I feel confident “I will have left it all in the circle” at Logan-Magnolia after this year. I was also taught I should always thank those who challenge me, so thank you to our competing schools and communities. We all have the same goals, without your competition and also support, I would not be where I am. Thank you for competing. Finally, thank you to Northern State University, athletic department, coaches, and future teammates for accepting me. I will work hard and do all I can for the Wolves.
