The Upper Iowa University Peacocks kick off their first tournament of the New Year at the NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals in Fort Wayne, Ind. on Thursday and Friday. The Peacocks enter the National Duals ranked seventh in NCAA Division II. Upper Iowa shares this ranking with the Northern State University Wolves.
The Peacocks will open competition against University of Wisconsin Parkside on Thursday at 9 a.m. With a win, Upper Iowa will take on the winner of Tiffin/Nebraska Kearney at 1 p.m.
With seven ranked wrestlers, the Peacocks are 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. In 2016, Upper Iowa finished 4-1 at the NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals, placing fifth.
