- Helped lead the Hawkeyes to a first-place finish at the Midlands Championships
- The top-ranked wrestler picked up a pin, three technical falls and a decision before claiming a major decision in the championship over seventh-ranked Tim Lambert of Nebraska
- Named the Dan Gable Most Outstanding Wrestler
- Earns the second Wrestler of the Week Award of his career

Ethan Lizak, Minnesota
125 pounds – So. – Schnecksville, Pa. – Parkland
- Led the Golden Gophers to a fourth-place finish at the Southern Scuffle
- Picked up three major decisions over ranked opponents en route to the 125-pound title
- Earned bonus points in all five wins, surrendering just two takedowns
- Earns the first Wrestler of the Week Award of his career
