Iowa native Rachel Watters will begin her quest for a Junior World title in Macon, France tomorrow at 3:00 AM Central. Watters drew the top line in the bracket and will face France’s Pauline Denise LeCarptentier in her first match. Watters was also a member of the 2015 Junior World team where she finished fifth. Looking at her side of the bracket Masako Furuchi (Japan) was the 2015 Junior gold medalist at 67 kg – but Watters wouldn’t meet her until the semifinals. It also appears that the other fifth place finisher from Watters’s 2015 bracket, Anastasia Shutova (Ukraine) is on the opposite side of the bracket.
