The University of Northern Iowa didn’t see a whole lot of movement in the second February MAC coaches poll, the final poll to be released this year. UNI is still ranked third in the MAC, behind Old Dominion and Missouri.

The Panthers have four individuals ranked in the poll, led by number one Blaize Cabell at 285 pounds. Cabell has not lost in a dual this year, and hasn’t lost since December 6th. This past weekend he defeated ODU’s Matt Tourdot 11-4.
Dylan Peters and Cooper Moore come in at second at 125 and 165 pounds, respectively. Peters has won every dual match this year except one; he dropped a 10-1 major decision to #1 Alan Waters of Missouri. Peters most recently beat #3 Brandon Jeske from ODU 8-3. Moore has had a rough two weeks, dropping two decisions, a 5-2 loss to Iowa State’s Michael Moreno, and a 7-4 decision to Tristan Warner of Old Dominion. Warner took over the top spot in the MAC from Moore this week.
The other Panther making his was back to the top of the conference is Jarrett Jensen. After falling to fourth in the first poll for February, he’s bounced back with a win over #1 Ian Miller, Iowa States Luke Goettl, and secured the dual-winning pinfall over Old Dominion’s TC Warner. Jensen currently sits at third in the MAC poll.
The MAC Championship Tournament will take place on March 7th and 8th this year in Columbia, Missouri. The host Missouri Tigers just secured the number spot in Intermat’s latest poll after a win over then-number-one Iowa at the National Duals. Missouri won the tournament last year, with 118.5, beating out UNI by just 2.5 points.
