The Iowa State Cyclones ended the first session out in Chattanooga, Tennessee with 11 wrestlers still alive, with five of those wrestlers still alive on the championship side of the bracket. All-American’s Earl Hall (133) and Kyven Gadson (197) are currently leading the charge for Iowa State. Also joining Hall and Gadson on the championship side is Gabe Moreno (149), Tanner Weatherman (174), and Quean Smith (285).
The Missouri squad features a pair of Iowa high school prep wrestlers in Mikey England (165) and Willie Miklus (184). England originally committed to Iowa State out of Centerville, IA and Miklus is from 3A powerhouse Southeast Polk. Both Missouri wrestlers are still on the championship side of their respective brackets.
True freshmen Nathan Boston (125) and Dante Rodriguez (141) did not make weight for the Cyclones.
