Iowa got some fantastic news last night as Pennsylvania native Mike Kemerer announced that he would be continuing his career at Iowa:
Proud to officially announce that I have decided to further my wrestling and academic career at the University of Iowa. Go Hawks!

The news was much needed for Iowa, who’s recruiting efforts have been relatively quiet since the addition of Cash Wilcke earlier this summer. Kemerer, who is ranked #10 by Earl at D1 College Wrestling, selected Iowa over Stanford, Cornell, and Lehigh.
Tony and I discussed Kemerer (and Joseph) at length when they were taking their official visit on Cross Face:
Kemerer comes to Iowa with a lot of national recognition as a multiple Fargo All-American and state finalist, as well as a member of the prestigious Young Guns Wrestling Club (the same very club that 2016 commit Kaleb Young is a part of). Coming in a top 10 recruit, Kemerer joins the likes of Mike Evans and Tony Ramos.
A few of Kemerer’s wins from Fargo:
First his win over Intermat’s #73 recruit (and Lehigh commit) Jordan Kutler
Two years ago he beat the gem in UNI’s 2014 recruiting class, Josh Alber
