Last week, the WCWA (Women’s College Wrestling Association) released their preseason rankings for the upcoming season and Iowan Megan Black checks in at #3 in the 130 weight class. Black wrestles for King University who sit atop the team rankings with 136 points, and Oklahoma City their closest competitor with 116.
Last year King University needed to rally from 13 points down in the finals, but found a way to take home the title. Black was a contributor to that title, taking home 7th place in which she notched a 11-1 technical fall.
Black also was a competitor at the Pan-Am games in Canada this summer, where she dominated her way to winning a gold medal for Team USA.
EDIT: Jasmine Bailey also checks in on the rankings at #8. Bailey put together a fantastic finish at the Fargo National High School tournament, by placing third at 130.
