When Ella Schmit was in third grade, she made a decision that would one day land her in the record books: she started wrestling.

As she recalls it, her brother was wrestling for maybe a couple of weeks before she decided to get in the room as well. Wrestling has always been in her family, and she was drawn to it from a young age.

“I just started wrestling and going to practiced and ever since then I haven’t stopped,” Schmit said.
