Three-time state place winner and four-time qualifier Bryce Hatten of Winterset has committed to wrestle for Coach Cole Spree at Indian Hills Community College. Hatten placed 8th as a freshman, second as a junior, and fourth as a senior last week. Hatten chose Indian Hills over Grand View and Central.
Hatten told IAwrestle that “The biggest thing that stuck out to me about Indian Hills was definitely the vibe of the town and the relationships everyone had there. It’s one of those places where everyone knows everyone and I was really looking for that in my college choice. On the wrestling side, the biggest thing was how determined the coaches were that we ARE going to win. To also know that I’m going to have great partners in the room is awesome too.”
Hatten added ” I would also like to thank my parents and siblings number one! Then my coach and the team at Winterset. Finally, I would like to thank the Winterset fan base. I really don’t know if I would be where I am without all of those people in my life. They tell me when I’ve done the best things in life, but the biggest thing that they have done to me to where I am is to hold me accountable numerous times when I have made bad decisions or wrestled a bad match. So thank you to my family, friends, team and fan base!!”
Hatten joins 2019 state champion, Eli Loyd of Pleasant Valley, in the 2020 recruiting class for Indian Hills.
