Each new wrestling season brings a new crop of wrestlers to the high school scene. Last year’s Freshman class had a lot of hype and lived up to it. This year’s class is going to be tough as well, with several kids who will be immediate difference makers on their teams and on the State level. They bring with them numerous championships from their time on the youth circuit and will now be challenging opponents at the next level.
Here are 12 Freshman that you will want to keep an eye on this season, and their projected weight class.
Nathanael Jesuroga 106 Southeast Polk
Kale Petersen 106 West Fork
McKinley Robbins 106 Greene County
Ryder Block 106 Waverly-Shell Rock
Derrick Bass 106 Assumption
Gable Porter 113 Underwood
Chase Thomas 132 Crestwood, Cresco
Michael Macias 138 Assumption
CJ Walrath 145 Notre Dame, West Burlington
Ben Kueter 160 Iowa City High
Tate Naaktgeboren 160 Linn-Mar
McCrae Hagarty 170 Waverly-Shell Rock

Wyatt Reisz from LoMa made winning AAU at 110 look easy last year. I could see him in the finials at 113/120
What about Dominic Lopez
What weight is Dominic going has he had any big wins?
