IOWA CITY, Iowa — The 2017-18 home schedule released Wednesday by the University of Iowa wrestling program includes visits from top 10 programs Oklahoma State, Michigan, and Minnesota, and a weekend in April that features eight countries from around the globe competing at the 2018 United World Wrestling World Cup.
FIGHT FOR IOWA FRIDAY
Of the eight dates on the NCAA home schedule, at least six are contested on a Friday inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Hawkeyes host Oklahoma State on Friday, Jan. 12, and the Golden Gophers on Friday, Feb. 2. The Wolverines visit Iowa City on the weekend of Jan. 26-28.
The Friday night theme continues with Big Ten duals against Illinois on Dec. 1, and Michigan State on Jan. 5. Rider visits Carver-Hawkeye Arena in a Black Friday matchup on Nov. 24.
Buffalo, Iowa Central, and North Dakota State compete at the annual Iowa City Duals in the home opener Friday, Nov. 17. Senior Day celebrations are Sunday, Feb. 4 in the home finale against Northwestern.
