The Funk, Flash & Throws Camp scheduled for July 10th, will now donate all proceeds to Logan Luft’s family. Charles City Community School District released this statement.
“The Charles City Community School District is deeply saddened to inform you of an accident in our school community. Logan Luft, a student who was entering the 9th grade this fall, was involved in an ATV accident on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. His family shared this evening that Logan was declared clinically brain dead and will be kept on life support while his organ donation recipients are being chosen.
If students would like to visit with a school counselor, Mrs. Thomson, Mrs. Hagensick and Mrs. Rottinghaus will be available in the 8th grade learning studio at the Charles City Middle School on Thursday, July 6 from 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.
We know the Charles City community will join us in support and sympathy for the Luft family.”
The Funk, Flash & Throws Camp will feature clinicians Cruse Arhus of Immortal Athletics in Cedar Falls and Compound’s Cliff Fretwell. Arhus was Luft’s club coach.
This camp will cover scramblin, misdirection attacks, high risk high reward turns and reversals as well as high amplitude throws. Camp organizers are asking to register at the door but are welcome to pre-register online HERE.
