The Iowa State signee, Ryan Leisure is looking forward to getting to Iowa State after after winning greco and freestyle titles at the Southeast Regionals. The three-time Iowa high school state champion is part of a nationally ranked recruiting class for the Iowa State Cyclones.

“Working out with all the hammers around my weight. With the talent we have in our room I’ll be pushed both mentally and physically. From Kanen Storr to Ian Parker to name a couple.” – Leisure

Leisure committed to Kevin Jackson and company back in April of 2016 and many wondered if the prize Iowa recruit would ask for a release but the excitement with the recent coaching changes has Ryan just as excited if not more to be a Cyclone.

“My build is similar to Derek St. John, can’t wait to workout with him and pick his brain. All in all we have a top notch coaching staff.”

Ryan Leisure quite possibly could be one of the most under the radar recruits for a three-time state champion but he plans to change that this summer with some unfinished business. Leisure tells IAwrestle that he has no focused on going to tournaments this summer simply to focus on training full-time for Fargo. Leisure plans to wrestle 149 pounds for the Cyclones but state that lifting has become a big part of his workout plan so moving up to 157 pounds isn’t out of the question.
