Iowa State continues their recruiting momentum tonight when they picked up the verbal commitment of Detroit Central Catholic junior Ben Kamali. The future Cyclone made his announcement on Twitter:

“It’s always been a dream of mine to wrestle for the Cyclones,” Kamali told IAwrestle, “I know Iowa State is the place for me and I believe in the program. I believe in the coaches and everything that it has to offer me. It’s a dream come true.”

Kamali comes to the Cyclones coming off a big 2016 season by earning double All-American honors at Fargo taking sixth in Greco and eighth in freestyle. In addition to his national finishes, Kamali also picked up his first Michigan state title by winning the 106 D1 crown this past season.

The first recruit of the 2018 class, Kamali will project at 125 pounds and plans to wrestle at 119 or 125 pounds this coming season for Detroit Central Catholic.
