Make it six-for-six for UNI as Doug Schwab’s Panther Train will be leaving the station with the first six wrestlers in the lineup in Flowrestling’s preseason rankings. Moore will also be UNI’s second top ten wrestler, as he comes in No. 10 in the rankings.
Having dealt with several injury issues throughout his career, Moore has always shown he has the talent to succeed, as evidence by his back-to-back MAC Conference titles as a freshman and sophomore. His sophomore season was a high point as he also was a NCAA quarterfinalist and would later finish as a round of 12 wrestler. Last season Moore was able to make a late return to the lineup where he finished third in the MAC and went 1-2 at NCAAs.
Moore will have his work cut out to return to the MAC and to move up the necessary two spots to finish his career an All-American. That climb to the top will start with Missouri’s Daniel Lewis who is ranked No. 4 to start the season. There are several other MAC wrestlers ranked with Old Dominion’s Sheldon Wright (No. 16), Ohio’s Austin Reese (No. 17), and Eastern Michigan’s Dakota Juarez (No. 19).
