Last week ASICS America unveiled their 15th annual Girls High All-American Wrestling Team, which is the only national all-star team for which female high school wrestlers from all four grade levels are eligible. It came of little surprise that Ballard’s Rachel Watter made the list as a First Team selection.
Watters was one of three first team members to capture a 2015 Body Bar UWW Junior National title, which placed her on the Junior World Team that will compete later this summer in Brazil. In addition to winning the Junior National title, Watters also took home third place last month at the Senior World Team Trials in the 69 kg weight class. Her only loss in the tournament was to Olympian Randi Miller.
Watters also plans on competing in the Fargo high school championships this week, and will wrestle at 159 pounds for Team Iowa.
