The University of Iowa will have a slight change to their staff as strength and conditioning coach Travis Rutt will be moving on from the program. According to Minnesota media outlet The Guillotine, Rutt will be accepting a position on the Rochester Community and Technical College coaching staff.

“I am very excited to have Travis with our program next season. He brings a wealth of knowledge and is very well respected in the wrestling community.” Rochester coach Randy Rager told The Guillotine, “I know that he will have an immediate impact on our program.”

The eventuality of Rutt leaving Iowa was inevitable with his wife Michelle being named assistant coach for the University of Minnesota’s golf team earlier in 2018. Rutt was with the Hawkeye program for the last three seasons, but he has obvious strong coaching ties in the state of Minnesota where he has worked for Pinnacle Strong, Augsburg College, and University of Minnesota.
