IAwrestle is proud to announce that Night of Conflict is officially sold out ahead of its return on Friday, October 10, 2025, in Iowa City. The preseason showcase will take place at the Courtyard Iowa City University Heights (901 Melrose Ave, Iowa City, IA 52246). Doors will open at 6:30 PM with wrestling set to begin at 7:00 PM.

Fans unable to secure tickets can still catch every moment live on the IAwrestle Rokfin channel.

This year’s edition marks a heartfelt homecoming, nearly 10 years to the day from the inaugural Night of Conflict on October 16, 2015, held at the iconic Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City. The event immediately made a statement by bringing marquee matchups to one of the sport’s most iconic stages. From there, the event hit the road across the state—stopping in Sioux City, Des Moines, Cedar Falls and Waterloo—each year building on its reputation as the place to see state champions collide, national talent test themselves, and rising stars announce their arrival.

Through the years, Night of Conflict has featured dozens of eventual NCAA standouts and Division I recruits, cementing its status as a proving ground for wrestlers looking to compete on the biggest stages. Whether at Carver or a convention center packed shoulder-to-shoulder, the event has always been about the same thing: putting elite high school talent under the spotlight and giving fans a preview of the future of wrestling.

“To see this event sell out in less than six hours shows just how much excitement wrestling fans have for Night of Conflict,” said IAwrestle founder Tony Hager. “From the very beginning we wanted to give athletes a big stage and fans an unforgettable experience, and the 10-year anniversary in Iowa City will be exactly that. For those who couldn’t get a ticket, we’re proud to deliver the full experience live on Rokfin.”

Match announcements will continue to roll out in the weeks leading up to the event, with the signature blend of in-state rivalries, out-of-state showdowns, and nationally ranked talent set to highlight the card.

Keegan Bassett (Bishop McCort, Pennsylvania) vs Winner of Robertty/Rundall

World champion Keegan Bassett has been added to the card in what will be a battle of national champions at 106 pounds. Bassett will face the winner of the matchup between Iowa City West’s Diego Robertty and Oak Park-River Forest’s Mike Rundell.

Bassett’s resume is a lengthy one, but the former Fargo champ turned World Champion is among the best lightweights in the country and he is currently #3 in MatScouts’ latest rankings. During his freshman season he also placed at Super 32 and was fourth at the Pennsylvania state tournament.

Alex Penzkover (Southeast Polk) vs Gage Lohr (Watertown, South Dakota)

Our next battle will feature Fargo All-Americans Alex Penzkover of Southeast Polk who will be taking on South Dakota’s Gage Lohr.

Penzkover did not compete during the high school regular season this past year, but he still racked up accolades winning Wisconsin’s freestyle and Greco-Roman state title. He made the finals of USA Wrestling’s Folkstyle Nationals, and he brought home All-American honors in both styles out at Fargo this summer.

Lohr has already won three individual state titles in South Dakota and he is just now entering his junior year of high school. MatScouts has him as number #39 on his 2027 Big Board and he finished third out at Fargo this summer after taking fourth the year before.

This next match will feature two talented state medalists from Class 2A who will be in contention for a state title come February, and the duo may cross paths in the same bracket.

Boelman is a three-time state qualifier taking seventh and fifth at the tournament as a sophomore and junior. He also earned All-American status in Greco-Roman out at Fargo.

Mehlert is a year younger and has placed fifth and third in his two trips to the state tournament. He checks in at #4 in the IAwrestle ‘Way Too Early’ rankings, which is one spot ahead of Boelman.
