Lisbon state champion Marshall Hauck has made his college commitment and is headed to Brookings, South Dakota to wrestle for head coach Damion Hahn and the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. Hauck was the Class 1A state champion at 152 for the Lions this season and also won the final and deciding match in the State Duals finals over Don Bosco.
Hauck said that he had a couple of other college visits planned just decided that SDSU was where he wanted to go and was a great place to help him reach his goals. He told IAwrestle that “I chose South Dakota State because I really like the coaching staff and they have the programs that I want to study.”
He also added “I want to thank my family, my host family, my coaches, teammates, and everyone who believed in me and helped me along the way!”
He joins a big group of Iowans already on the roster for SDSU and Waverly native Cody Caldwell on the coaching staff. He also joins Union, LaPorte City’s Jack Thomsen in the 2020 recruiting class.
“Host family.”
