Upper Iowa University has landed Osage middle weight Zach Williams. Williams is a three time state qualifier and two time state place winner. Williams is 93-11 over the last two seasons and placed 5th as a Sophomore and 6th as a Junior. He chose the Peacocks over Grand View and Wisconsin-LaCrosse. He plans to wrestle 160 pounds as a senior and projects at 165 pounds at the next level.
Williams told IAwrestle that “I chose Upper Iowa because of the coaching staff and wrestlers they have. It is important in their culture to be great wrestlers as well as great students.” He added “I feel as if I can train to be the best I can possibly be at Upper Iowa.”
Williams also said that “I want to thank my mom and dad for helping me make this huge decision in my life. I also want to thank Coach Jennings for pushing me and all of my practice partners over the years.”
Williams is the first known commitment for Upper Iowa in the 2020 class.
