Once again you got Kingery from Polk ranked without wrestling . Just curious if he is your step son or something because you just love to put him in there and it doesn’t matter what weight

Everyone is sure worried about Vis being #1!
Honestly who cares!!! It’s a number! That’s it a number! The number doesn’t put a medal around his neck in a month! Quit wasting energy on something that’s been beat to death!!
Anyone of those top 5/6 HWT’s can be beat! It’s been proven many times this season! Let the chips fall and let the boys sort it out!
I mean if a number makes you feel all warm and fuzzy then I guess keep talking about it!!
But I think the case for Josh Vis being #1 has been noted!!

Rankings being just a number has been duly noted by many as well, even Vis’ father said rankings don’t matter, state does. Not sure why you are so heated with people stating their opinions (just as rankings themselves are an opinion by those doing the ranking)Wrestling forums are a place where people can debate and have good wrestling conversations, lets try not to ruin that by being cynical about warm fuzzies. I believe people are just trying to understand the logic which is fine. I believe the gentlemen with IA Wrestle have given great reasons why they ranked the way they did. Again, it is just a healthy debate which is good and keeps things interesting.

If rankings were perfect than it wouldn’t be any fun.

Rankings do not mean anything other than a number and who is hot right now. I have stated it before that in one month this will all be sorted out by these boys. People have been having some good conversations about the heavyweights. There is no need for a bad attitude with people having conversations on a message board about the heavyweight rankings Wrestle off. I understand that people are probably shocked that the heavyweights are getting the spot light right now unlike the past. I personally think it is great that they are the topic right now regardless if my kid is part of the discussions. This is one of the best field of heavyweights since I don’t know when. There have always been one or two stand outs but never this many that could beat one another any given day. I really think that most people are having fun with this unlike Wrestle off. Have a great day everyone.

Completely agree. I love hearing everyone’s opinions. I also agree with Wrestle Off that there is a little to much bashing going on against IA Wrestle for their ranking which is silly. People shouldn’t go so far as to bash either IA Wrestle or The Predicament. They are putting quite a bit of time into watching all levels and weights and giving us their opinions and helping make this sport more enjoyable. I also agree with Dustin Vis that it is cool to see the heavyweights getting so much attention. They certainly deserve it! I am on edge each week watching all of these debates as the top 10 continue to surprise us with their wins/losses on the mats leading up to Districts and State!

Not hostile at all, I understand everything you’re saying! Others have repeatedly bashed IA guys for their rankings and their reasons! Read them their there, either here or the other site! Don’t tell me I’m ruining it! I haven’t once insulted anyone! All I am saying is it’s a number and opinion, let it go!

I think people are just surprised at the rankings because the loss for Vis from Campbell came at the first tournament of the year on Dec. 1st. The rankings came out on Dec. 15th which that loss reflected. Then since that loss Josh has pretty much pinned and majored everyone since with the exception of his loss to Trenary who is top 10 in the nation. And another notable victory was Josh beating Blaser from Illinois who is #16 in the nation. So from what I get from everyones comments is that they feel Vis should be higher if not #1 with his performances since the first tournament of the season. I am shocked that this has blown up like it has and enjoy watching everything. You guys have a tough deal trying to figure out rankings and would not want to do it. Thanks for all you guys do for the sport and Josh cannot wait for the upcoming meets and state.

This is a terrible website for rankings! Will not be depending on these rankings anymore. The predicament actually knows what they are talking about! Terrible set of rankings across all three classes. 1A i havent seen such a terrible set of rankings in my life! Bosco should be number one not Denver. Denver can’t beat bosco on their best day! Terrible!

Beau Lombardi gets absolutely handled by now #7 Josh Vis and he is still #1. Then barely wins other matches to unranked guys. Losing credibility fast.

Lombardi: wins over Anderson, Monahan, and Snyder. Loss to Vis
Anderson: win over Monahan. Loss to Lombardi
Monahan: losses to Lombardi and Anderson. Wins over Snyder and Liddle
Snyder: losses to Lombardi and Monahan. Wins over Liddle and Murry
Murry: loss to Snyder. Win over Liddle
Liddle: losses to 4 of the top-5. Wins over #8 Mcgowan and #10 Campbell
Vis: loss to #10 Campbell has a loss to Liddle and Lombardi.. plus 2 outside the top-10..win over Lombardi
This one was tough.

Vis has lost to Trenary and Campbell (threw himself to his back at Keith Young). He has not lost to Liddle or Lombardi this year… The Campbell loss should have never happened. Vis has since beaten Lombardi and Lombardi pinned Campbell on saturday, making the Vis loss to Campbell irrelevant in my opinion.

You are wrong about the Vis kid. He beat #1 Lombardi and a highly nationally ranked wrestler (Blaser) from Illinois. But go ahead and hold onto that #10 Campbell loss and the loss to #1 Trenary if that makes you feel justified.

To clarify Vis’s season in case I am reading Tony’s post correctly (which I may not) Vis has only lost twice (#10 Campbell, #1 Trenary) He “Medical Forfeit”ed out of the Keith Young. But his record is 18-2. Notable Wins: Over Fox, Hayes, Pelfrey, Lombardi, Blaser)…losses were to Campbell by fall (caught in a bad position) and 7-2 dec against Trenary. Believe that he will get Lombardi again this weekend at Louisa-Muscatine tourney and has a chance to meet up with Murry and Campbell at MVC meet 2/2 and will get the Sweet kid from CRJeff 1/31. Vis will help sort this out, I am sure.
