Don Bosco State Champion Daniel Kimball has made his commitment to wrestle for the South Dakota State. Kimball chose the Jackrabbits over Northern Iowa. Kimball placed 4th at the state tournament his Sophomore year before winning his state title as a Junior. He was also a Fargo Nationals Freestyle All American in 2017 placing 5th. He is currently ranked #16 in the latest Iowa Fab 50. He projects at 125 pounds in college.
“I chose SDSU because the environment up in Brookings.” Kimball told IAwrestle “I felt that I would really grow and reach my potential there. I also really liked the coaches a lot, they are fired up to get better everyday and ready to get to work. I’ve had a long relationship with Cody Caldwell and I can’t wait to wrestle for him.”
Kimball added “I would like to thank the coaches at UNI for recruiting me this summer and fall and providing me a place to train and get better through the RTC. I also want to thank all my club coaches and High School coaches throughout the years that have helped me get to this point. Lastly I want to thank my parents for be support and the coaches at SDSU for giving me this opportunity.”
He will join fellow Iowans Cade Devos of Southeast Polk, Skyler Noftsger of Ballard & Spencer Trenary of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, who just committed last week, in the 2019 recruiting class as well as Cade King out of Owatonna, MN. South Dakota State already has Iowans Henry Pohlmeyer, Zach Price & Tanner Sloan on the roster.
