For the second year in a row the Iowa State Cyclones were shut out from the podium, though one wrestler – Jarrett Degen- came awful close. The result was not necessarily unexpected either. Only Degen and fellow freshman Ian Parker even carried rankings by the end of the season. Going forward into next season the Cyclones should have a few wrestlers vying to make the podium as Kevin Dresser continues his program rebuild.

It should also be noted that three wrestlers at Virginia Tech that were recruited by Dresser – Jared Haught and David McFadden each returned to the podium, while Zach Zavatsky picked up his first honor.

All wrestlers in the below grid are Kevin Jackson All-Americans. This season marked the first full season that Dresser was at the helm of the Cyclone program after being named coach in February of 2017. Optimism will remain high that Dresser will be in a position to score his first Cyclone All-American next season.
