  1. And, if I’m not mistaken, Coach Penrith was at UNI for 10 seasons as head coach. That’s why people should always be concerned with how quickly fair weather fans can turn on a coach and a program.

  2. As a 20+ year panther fan, I thought that I’d add in some perspective for where Coach Schwab is at right now, compared to where Coach Penrith was at after his 7th season. My hope is that a couple of “down years” doesn’t make anyone overreact with Coach Schwab as happened before.

Again, after seven full seasons, here is the comparison. Coach Schwab has a higher dual meet winning percentage.

    Penrith
    Dual record: 63-52-3 53% WP
    All-Americans: 11
    Finalists: 2
    Average Place for AAs: 5.6
Average finish/place at NCAA tournament: 20.4

    Schwab
    Dual record: 65-42 61% WP
    All-Americans: 8
    Finalists: 0
    Average Place for AAs: 5.5
Average finish/place at NCAA tournament: 26.7
