  1. I really like Schriever. I love how he wrestles. I normally love this kid’s interviews.

    But not this one.

He didn’t wrestle “horrible” and that was maybe inadvertently a tad bit disrespectful towards Braswell, IMO…who deserves credit for wrestling a tough match and being one of the best pound for pound top wrestlers in the state. Gotta give credit where it’s due, no matter how good you are…otherwise, you probably need to come back down to Earth a bit.

However, to Schriever’s defense…this was right after the match…lotta adrenaline still pumping and not a lot of time to fully process things yet…kid obviously isn’t used to having matches in which he wins by 5 points or less so it probably did seem like a loss to him.

I haven’t lost any respect for the kid (and who cares if I did anyways)…I just think he (Schriever) did not do a horrible job and that Braswell did very good himself…like I said, Braswell is one of the best guys in the state when it comes to riding. That loss was nothing to be ashamed of.
