The Wartburg Knights have landed a big in-state talent. Southeast Warren’s Brady Kyner has committed to the program. Kyner is a three-time Iowa state medalist and is projected to wrestle 125 pounds for the Knights.

“Coach Keller and I have had a special bond from the start. All the schools I looked at, I found myself trying to compare them to Wartburg. I chose Wartburg because of history behind the program and continuing to make. The depth in coaching staff and alums they have in the room is nuts. They have one the best support systems behind them and that make me fall in love the school.” Kyner said.

Most recently Kyner came in at #39 in IAwrestle’s preseason Fab 50, and he joins #50 Slade Sifuentes in the Knights 2017 recruiting class.

Kyner had his highest finish of his career in 2016 where he was the runner-up to Bryce West at 126 pounds. Kyner finished fourth as a sophomore and sixth as a freshman. In the fall, Kyner also added a third place finish at USA Wrestling’s Preseason Folkstyle Nationals.

Kyner is currently ranked #2 in IAwrestle’s preseason 1A rankings at 120 pound behind North Linn state champion Brock Henderson.
