It’s not often that you are able to put together a matchup between two high quality 106 pound wrestler, but with this match we think we have not only put together to of the nation’s top 106 pound wrestlers, but we also found a pair with a little rivalry. Today’s matchup looks at Waukee’s Kyle Biscoglia and Cody Phippen of Missouri.

Kyle Biscoglia (SO)
School: Waukee
Credentials: 2015 Cadet Fargo All-American

Cody Phippen (SO)
School:Platte County, Missouri
Credentials:2015 Cadet Fargo All-American

The rivalry between these two is an interesting one; interesting enough that in fact, one of the wrestlers specifically requested the other for this match. Biscoglia is a nationally ranked wrestler who was bumped from his high school lineup as a freshman by the eventual state runner-up, Phippen is making the move to Missouri for the next season. This will be the seventh time these two have met in their young careers The last time these two wrestlers met was at the Cadet freestyle national duals when Biscoglia got a first period fall over Phippen. Rest assured Phippen is looking for redemtion and would love to do it on Biscolgia’s home turf in Iowa.

Biscoglia on Phippen: “I have wrestled Cody six times and have split matches over the years. It is always an exciting match. Off the mat Cody and I are pretty good friends. We have a lot of respect for each other.”

Phippen on Biscoglia: “It will be good because he is a really tough opponent and we have wrestled multiple times and gone back and forth and I lost to him the last time and I want to redeem myself.”

Biscoglia on the Night of Conflict: “This is going to be a great event and I’m really glad I got invited to be a part of it. It’s great to wrestle at Carver and it will be awesome to see some of the great match ups.”

Phippen on the Night of Conflict: “It is a cool event because it is not every day that you get to wrestle in the middle of a ton of people in Carver Hawkeye Arena.”
