Last week we mentioned that Iowa was sending a talented team to the Cadet National Duals, and they sure delivered. As a team, Iowa took home double top eight honors, with the Greco-Roman team taking seventh and the top freestyle team taking home sixth. Iowa had an additional freestyle team take 19th as well.

Among those terrific dual team finishes, Iowa had quite a few individual standouts, including five wrestlers that finished the freestyle tournament undefeated and two wrestlers that went undefeated while competing in both styles throughout the week.

Going undefeated in freestyle was both Iowa 100 pound wrestlers. Kyle Biscoglia, who is nationally ranked at 106 pounds led the way going 9-0 for Team 1, which was the team that placed sixth. Iowa also had Gable Fox go 8-0 on the weekend.

In Greco-Roman, only one wrestler was able to go undefeated, and that was Isaac Bartel, who split time between both 170 and 182, and managed to go 5-0 to start off the week.

Marcus Coleman, who just might have been Iowa’s most valuable wrestler, went 14-0 on the weekend at 160 pounds, which included nine wins in freestyle and five wins in Greco-Roman. Coleman was preceded in the lineup by the other undefeated wrestler in the lineup, which was 152 pound wrestler Ben Sarasin. Sarasin went 9-0 in freestyle and 3-0 in Greco-Roman.

Iowa had additional standouts as well: Brody Teske went 7-2 in freestyle at 113 pounds, with one of his losses coming to #17 nationally ranked Jordan Decatur….Duncan McCain, also at 113, went 7-1 in freestyle….Keaton Geerts was one match shy of perfection, going 8-1 in freestyle at 126 pounds….Nathan Lendt was 6-2 for Team Iowa 2 at 126 pounds….Nelson Brands went 7-2 at 132 pounds and 4-0 in Greco-Roman….Logan Shumaker was 6-2 at 160 pounds….Tucker Morrison went 7-2 at 182 pounds….Kaleb Reeves at 182 pounds went 7-1….Finally, Dylan Olson was 7-1 at heavyweight.
