Just like they did last year, the NWCA in association with Elite Level Sports Marketing (ELSM) have announced 16 finalists for the “Pure Entertainment” Division. Iowa’s own Simpson College and Buena Vista made the cut into the field and they will be facing some tough competition: Buffalo, Coker College, Drexel, George Mason, Hofstra, Lehigh, Minnesota, Muhlenberg College, Old Dominion, Princeton, Sacred Heart, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and West Virginia.
From the NWCA Release: “The criteria for determining the “Pure Entertainment” award winner will feature two key elements: a panel of judges assessing annual performance (70%) and an online voting competition (30%). The online voting component will include 15% allocated to the actual vote totals and 15% to the creativity of campaign during the Battle Round voting.”
Simpson College has been selected as the #12 seed, which means their first round match will be against Muhlenberg College. Buena Vista has been named the #10 seed, and will face off against Southern Illinois in the first round. The voting will be conducted in bracket fashion so fans will need to go online to the NWCA Website to cast their votes for their team to advance. The voting will begin each day at 4:00 PM on June 1st and end four hours later at 8:00 PM. Winner each day will advance so it is very important to make sure you get out and vote. Each person is allowed one vote/hour (across multiple devices so if you have a phone, computer, and tablet that’s three votes every hour!).

- Day 2: Quarterfinals Tuesday, June 2
- Day 3: Semifinals Wednesday, June 3
- Day 4: Finals Thursday, June 4
