Yesterday, we took a look at all the Iowans that will be competing in the freestyle portion of University Nationals, but today we will look into Iowans competing in the other international style, Greco-Roman. This list is noticeably smaller than the freestyle competitors, but there should be some Iowans that are right in the thick of a individual title.

Both Grand View wrestlers will be pulling double duty this weekend with Elijah Sullivan competing at 66 kg (registered at 65 in freestyle) and Dylan Blackford wrestling at 80 kg in both styles. Former Iowa prep wrestler David Walker will also be wrestling in both styles as he is registered at 71 kg for Greco-Roman.

Christian Dulaney of UNI will also be a name to watch at 98 kg, as he too will try his hand at competing in both styles this week. Dulaney is a 197 pound wrestler for the Panthers, and with senior Basil Minto graduating this past season, Doug Schwab is looking for someone to step up and fill that hole in his lineup.

The University of Iowa probably boasts some of the biggest hammers to contend for a title, as both Burke Paddock and Sam Stoll are two former high school Greco stars. Stoll in fact qualified for the 2013 Junior Greco-Roman team before his senior season, but was beat out by another phenom Adam Coon last year when he tried to repeat. Last year at the Fargo high school championships both Paddock and Stoll captured national titles in their respective weight classes. Paddock won all but two of his matches by fall or technical fall, including his 10-0 finals victory. While Stoll wasn’t as dominant, he still posted some big wins along the way to his national title.
