AT: Alburnett
Alburnett vs. South Winneshiek, Calmar
Sumner-Fredericksburg vs. MFL, MarMac

This regional has two teams that have been quietly have solid seasons in South Winn and Sum-Fred. South Winn qualified 10 for districts and Sum-Fred qualified 9. Unfortunately for them, they got paired with a team that also qualified 10 in Alburnett. Look for Alburnett to move on to state duals here and be a contender for the dual title in Des Moines.

FINAL PREDICTION: Alburnett over Sumner-Fredericksburg

AT: Clarion-Goldfield-Dows
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows vs. Graettinger-Terril/RuthvenAyrshire
South Central Calhoun vs. Alta-Aurelia

Alta should have a shot at finishing in the top 10 at the traditional state tournament, but they are not really known as a dual team. South Central Calhoun may very well be a top 8 dual team in the state this year, but we may never find out. Clarion-Goldfield will be looking to defend their dual title from a year ago. Expect them to take care of business tonight and be wrestling for the title late next Wednesday night.

FINAL PREDICTION: Clarion-Goldfield over South Central Calhoun

AT: Don Bosco, Gilbertville
Don Bosco, Gilbertville vs. North Butler, Greene
Lake Mills vs. Manson Northwest Webster

Yet another regional that features two teams that are both potentially top 10 teams. Lake Mills has some studs in their lineup, but Don Bosco is a bad match up for them. Lake Mills light weights are going to run into some strong competition from Boscos first 4.

FINAL PREDICTION: Don Bosco over Lake Mills

AT: Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont vs. English Valleys, North English
Dike-New Hartford vs. Sigourney-Keota

English Valley and Sigourney have some strong individual wrestlers and will do their most damage in the traditional tournament. Eddyville-Blakesburg was right on the edge of being a top 8 dual team most of the year until they lost an individual title contender. They are still a solid team, but they will have to deal with a Dike-New Hartford team that has been underrated for years. This may be on of Dikes best teams they’ve had in awhile.

FINAL PREDICTION: Dike-New Hartford over Eddyville-Blakesburg.

AT: Lisbon
Lisbon vs. Tipton
Maquoketa Valley, Delhi vs. Wilton

Here we have the most evenly matched regional in class 1A. Lisbon, Maq Valley, and Wilton are all potentially top 10 dual teams. Wilton has studs scattered throughout the lineup, but they give up a few forfeits. Maquoketa Valley has a full team and is solid throughout. Lisbon is a battle tested team that will look to capitalize on being separated from Alburnett at regionals for once.

FINAL PREDICTION: Lisbon over Maquoketa Valley

AT: Logan-Magnolia
Logan-Magnolia vs. AHSTW, Avoca
Riverside, Oakland vs. East Mills

Logan-Magnolia is the heavy favorite to make yet another trip to state duals from this regional. LoMa is a balanced team that qualified 11 individuals for districts.

FINALS PREDICTION: Logan-Magnolia over Riverside, Oakland

AT: Southeast Warren, Liberty Center
Southeast Warren, Liberty Center vs. Lynnville-Sully
West Marshall, State Center vs. Interstate-35, Truro

West Marshall made a trip to state duals two years ago and are looking to do the same this year. West Marshall has been hampered by an injury to Ross Randall, but they are still a great dual team. Southeast Warren is the new kid on the block this year and have a perfect storm of talent. Look for Southeast Warren to qualify and turn some heads down in Des Moines this year.

FINALS PREDICTION: Southeast Warren over West Marshall

AT: Woodbury Central, Moville
Woodbury Central, Moville vs. West Lyon, Inwood
Sibley-Ocheyedan vs. Westwood, Sloan

This should be an interesting matchup in the finals between Woodbury Central and Sibley-Ocheyedan. Both teams have some holes in their lineups, but they make up for it with plenty of highly ranked wrestlers. Look for Woodbury to take this one, but look out for Sibley-Ocheyedan in the future with their young talent.

FINALS PREDICTION: Woodbury Central over Sibley-Ocheyedan
