Colter Bye of Cresco, Crestwood made a name for himself last season as he steadily climbed the rankings before qualifying for his first state tournament and finishing 7th in class 2A. Now Bye has committed to wrestle for D2 Upper Iowa. He chose UIU over Luther, Wartburg, UW Lacrosse, and Northern State. He projects at 165/174 at the next level.
“After my first visit at UIU I thought it might be the place for me.” Bye told IAwrestle, “I liked the small town feel of Fayette and the coaching staff. The coaches all seemed to be my style and I loved the atmosphere in the practice room. The team welcomed me as if I was already wrestling with them and I loved that all the guys seemed to be into hunting and fishing!”
Bye is the first commitment of the 2019 class for the Peacocks. He will join former Crestwood teammates Ryan Steffen and Hunter Slifka on the Upper Iowa roster.
