The Iowa State Cyclones followed up their 39-4 dominating performance over Utah Valley with another big win as they trashed Boise State 36-8. Seniors Mike Moreno and Kyven Gadson both picked up falls over their opponents, and juniors Tanner Weatherman and Earl Hall also picked up bonus point wins en route to the Cyclone victory.

Unlike the first dual, the Cyclones struggled out of the gate. After an Earl Hall major, Georgan Martinez picked up a 9-5 decision over John Meeks to close the gap to 4-3 Cyclones lead. Gabe Moreno came out and earned a hard fought one point win (6-5) to push the Cyclones lead to 7-3. Steven Hernandez would answer for Boise State with a fall over senior Luke Gottel to take the team lead 9-7.

That would prove to be Boise’s only lead of the night, as Mike Moreno answered with a fall of his own to put the Cyclones back on top, and they never looked back from there. Sophomores Quean Smith and Lelund Weatherspoon also picked up a pair of victories for the Cyclones.
