The UNI Panthers never trailed in their dual Sunday afternoon against the Air Force Falcons as they won 29-9, in a dual at the West Gym. UNI had four bonus point wins, including three tech falls, to keep Air Force down.

Tyrell Gordon got things started off with a win over Casey Jumps. After Jumps got hit with a penalty point for an illegal headlock, Gordon used a pair of first period takedowns to put some distance between him and the Falcon. Gorden held up for the 8-2 victory.

Jay Schwarm scored the meets first bonus points on the afternoon, shutting out Sidney Flores in the first match, scoring four points in the first period and keeping Flores on bottom for the second. A reversal, stall point, and riding time locked up the match for Schwarm.

Josh Alber, riding a ten match win streak, came in looked maybe a little slow in the first period – and by slow I just mean that he didn’t have a takedown. Alber went on to ride Tommy Stager out of the second period before scoring his final five points in the third period. It was Alber’s 99th victory as a Panther, and his 11th in a row.

At 149 pounds Max Thomsen came in and scored the Panthers’ first tech fall of the afternoon, 19-1 over Tommy Stager. Thomsen used a pair of takedowns in the first then a four point nearfall in the second to push Stager over the edge.

Bryce Steiert and Taylor Lujan both also scored tech fall wins, 16-0 and 19-4, respectively. Lujan was the only one of the three to give up a takedown, which came in the first period, but after that it was all Panther.

Drew Foster closed the dual out with a major decision, 15-5 over Jake Thompson. Foster had another impressive outing, racking up six takedowns after having received a forfeit Thursday night against Missouri.

Izaak Shedenhelm, Jack Skudlarczyk, and Pat Schoenfelder all dropped close matches for the Panthers.

UNI is next in action this Friday night, where they’ll host Northern Colorado in the West Gym at 7PM.
