New Iowa State head coach, Kevin Dresser is off to a fast start with his 2018 recruiting class with two of the state’s top seniors already giving the head Cyclone verbal commitments. While Dresser continues to make his footprint in state, it appears his reach has also included Illinois prep Will Lewan who told Flowrestling earlier this week he was interested in Iowa State and six other schools.

Competing for Illinois high school powerhouse Montini Catholic, Lewan finds himself near the top in Flowrestling’s individual rankings (#2 at 152 pounds) as well as the Class of 2018 (#29 overall). Earlier this summer Lewan made the UWW Cadet World Team at 69 kg, and will represent the United States overseas  later this summer in Athens, Greece.

Dresser’s current recruiting class contains top 50 recruit Joel Shapiro, Cayd Lara, and Weston DiBlasi.

Lewan’s entire list includes Cornell, Michigan, North Carolina, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, and Stanford in addition to Iowa State.
