The granGABLE powered by Scheels is a mass-participation cycling event that combines all that is Hawkeye with good health, exercise, and a commitment to excellence. Nobody embodies this more than legendary athlete and coach, Dan Gable. Through an incredible partnership between Coach Gable, the Iowa City/Coralville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Iowa Bicycle Coalition, and RAGBRAI (yes, the experts at RAGBRAI), the ride has emerged as a premier fondo in Iowa!

The second annual granGABLE will be Sunday, August 31, 2014 and will run through Johnson and surrounding counties.

Ride with cyclists from all over the Hawkeye state (and beyond) during the weekend of FRY Fest and the first University of Iowa home football game. Choose to ride either 25 miles, 60 miles, or challenge yourself by training like Gable and riding 100 miles! All century finishers will earn the exclusive and highly sought after granGABLE completion medal. So get registered, get training, and pedal for the medal.

Join us after the ride for a post-party to celebrate your accomplishments. Relax with music, food, and drinks. Hang out with friends, family, and fellow finishers at this special event commemorating your accomplishment.

All proceeds from the granGABLE fondo will benefit the Iowa Bicycle Coalition and Hawkeye Wrestling Club. Learn more about them today by viewing their respective pages on our website.
